Rain sensor

This so-called 'tipping bucket' rain sensor consists of a collection bucket that complies with the requirements of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and an internal tilting mechanism that tilts with every 0.25mm of precipitation and emits a pulse. The robust collection bucket is self-draining and frost-resistant. The amount of precipitation is measured accurately, with an error of ± 2%, as long as the precipitation rate remains below 50mm/hour.

This rain sensor is standardly mounted on our FieldGuard Rain Gauges. These stations record the number of pulses and transmit these counts to the Tracis Web Portal every 15 minutes. The Tracis Web Portal displays and records the amount of precipitation per 15 minutes and per day. Monthly summaries also show cumulative precipitation amounts per month."
