Rain-gauges
Our FieldGuard rain measurement stations measure the amount of precipitation using a so-called tipping bucket. In this setup, a sensor is connected to a tilting mechanism, and a pulse is generated each time a tilt occurs. Each pulse represents 0.25mm of precipitation. The "collection container" or bucket, as it is called in English, is frost-resistant, robust, and meets the requirements set by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). In addition to measuring the amount of precipitation, these stations can also be used for creating disease models for your crops. Below are the four most common configurations listed, and other configurations are available upon request.

Wireless Connection and Tracis Web Portal

The measurement data is wirelessly transmitted from the station to our Tracis Web Portal. In the Netherlands, this is done using the nationwide LoRa network provided by KPN, allowing a FieldGuard Station to be placed anywhere in the Netherlands without the need for an additional receiver (Gateway) or SIM card. However, in some cases, it may still be interesting to use your own gateway, for example, if the signal strength is insufficient or if the station is installed abroad. For more information about Tracis or setting up your own gateway, please visit these categories on our website or contact us.
