This station has 2 analog ports ADC0 and ADC1 to which a WaterScout SMEC300 and an SM100 soil moisture sensor are connected. The WaterScout SMEC300 sensor measures not only soil moisture percentage but also Soil EC and soil temperature. In practice, the SMEC is usually placed halfway into the root zone in the soil (at a depth of 10 - 30 cm, depending on the crop), while the SM100 is positioned at the root horizon (at a depth of 30 - 60 cm). In addition to the 2 analog ports, this station also has 2 digital ports (I²C) to which a digital temperature / RH sensor can be connected per port. With these optional temperature / RH sensors, air temperature and humidity can be measured at the height of the crop or within the crop. This temperature / RH sensor can be used for various purposes, including frost alerting where measurements are taken at the level of the lower branches, and it can also be used in disease models for your crop.
